Ensuring compliance with existing and upcoming legislation in the areas of personal data protection, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity is a significant undertaking for an organization of bpostgroup’s scale. As bpost processes large volumes of personal data and embraces new technologies to transform its operations, navigating these regulatory demands becomes increasingly critical.
To address this, we are recruiting a Digital Compliance Expert to join our newly established Digital Compliance Office, part of the Corporate Compliance & Data Protection Department. This department plays a pivotal role in supporting senior management to operate ethically and in full compliance within this dynamic digital ecosystem.
Your mission
As a Digital Compliance Expert at bpostgroup, your mission is to enable the responsible and ethical use of data and emerging technologies across the organization. You will play a key role in embedding compliance with data protection, cybersecurity, and AI regulations into our digital transformation journey. By guiding business units and subsidiaries through complex regulatory landscapes, you ensure that innovation goes hand in hand with integrity, legal certainty, and trust. Through proactive advice, continuous monitoring, and hands-on support, you help safeguard the rights of individuals, protect the company’s reputation, and build a sustainable compliance culture that empowers bpostgroup to lead with confidence in the digital age.
Tasks and responsibilities
As a Digital Compliance Expert you will among others:
- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs aligned with applicable laws, regulations (e.g., GDPR, AI Act, NIS2, DORA, Data Act), and industry standards ;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance considerations are integrated into business processes and initiatives ;
- Provide expert guidance on compliance matters, offering practical, timely solutions to emerging issues ;
- Advise business units on responsible and ethical behaviour aligned with legal and internal standards ;
- Monitor compliance with data protection laws, AI and cybersecurity regulations, and internal policies ;
- Carry out legal assessments of personal data processing operations and provide actionable recommendations ;
- Act as a point of contact for internal teams regarding compliance needs, new tools, and follow-up on guidance ;
- Develop and maintain standard compliance tools and templates (e.g., conventions, guidelines, standard letters) ;
- Assist in the drafting of privacy notices and contractual clauses (e.g., Data Processing Agreements) ;
- Design and deliver engaging compliance training programs to enhance understanding across the organization ;
- Support initiatives to foster a culture of privacy, cybersecurity, and ethical digital transformation within bpostgroup ;
- Continuously track developments in digital compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, AI Act, NIS2, DORA, Data Act) and ensure internal policies reflect these changes ;
- Provide support for privacy and cybersecurity incident management and regulatory notifications ;
- Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure effective incident response processes are in place ;
- Prepare and deliver accurate compliance reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders ;
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including subsidiaries and regulatory authorities, to ensure consistent and transparent compliance practices ;
- Lead and coordinate bpostgroup’s Privacy Network, supporting subsidiaries in conducting their activities in full compliance with applicable data protection regulations.
Your profile

- At least 5 years of experience as Digital compliance/legal counsel in a medium or large company, a law or a consulting firm combined with a master degree in Law ;
- You are a solution-oriented person, we are enablers in the bpostgroup transformation ;
- Excellent knowledge of Belgian, European & International regulations in the scope of Digital law in particular GDPR, NIS-2 and EU AI regulatory frameworks ;
- A business acumen partnered with a dedication for legality and high ethical standards are the foundations of your professional background ;
- You are able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment ;
- You have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously ;
- You have strong influencing and networking skills (thanks to your engaging character, your flexibility and your inclusive character) ;
- You are funny as this is crucial to work with us ;
- You have excellent communication skills, in Dutch or French (understanding the other is a plus) with a professional written and oral knowledge of English.
