Transport CoE Project Manager – Performance Management & KPI Reporting
What will you do?
Main Tasks:
1. Leadership & Project Management:
- Lead the capability team to deliver a group-wide performance management and KPI framework on time, within scope, and to agreed standards.
- Define project milestones, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with executive sponsors and key stakeholders.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between Finance, Performance Mgt, Transport & Network, Reporting (Data), Procurement and Technology to ensure end-to-end alignment.
2. Framework Design & Development:
- Preparation of milestone plans and timing for the different phases of the project – adapt where necessary
- Develop a clear performance management operating model that links Transport CoE strategy to measurable outcomes.
- Establish a structured hierarchy of KPIs (Group → Regional → Local).
- Define performance measurement methodologies, data sources, and reporting standards.
- Ensure KPI's are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) and reflective of both leading and lagging indicators.
3. Governance & Standardisation:
- Create a governance structure to maintain KPI consistency and data integrity across all entities.
- Document definitions, calculation methodologies, and ownership for each KPI.
- Lead workshops and working groups to validate KPI relevance and alignment.
4. Systems & Reporting Integrations:
- Collaborate with IT/Data teams to integrate KPI reporting into existing business intelligence systems or dashboards.
- Support the design of user-friendly reporting tools for leadership visibility and operational monitoring.
- Champion the adoption of digital tools to enhance data transparency and decision-making.
5. Change Management & Capability Building:
- Engage stakeholders at all levels to drive adoption and behavioural change around performance management.
- Develop training materials, communication plans, and guidance to embed a performance-driven culture.
- Mentor team members and business leaders on interpreting KPIs and using insights for continuous improvement.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor framework effectiveness and propose refinements based on feedback and evolving business needs.
- Benchmark performance management practices against industry standards.
- Report progress, challenges, and successes to the Executive Steering Committee.
- Stakeholder management: identifying stakeholders and taking into account potential conflicts of interest
7. Change management and realization of part of the Transport CoE strategic plan:
- Establishing synergies, cooperation between people from different departments and opposing interests
- Implementing changes
- Delivery and acceptance of the requested output of the project
Who are you?
- Masters Degree in Business Management or Supply Chain/Transportation equivalent
Required experience for the position:
- 6-10 years of relevant experience
Language skills:
- Fluent in English, Dutch and French an advantage.
Technical knowledge required to perform the function:
- Expert knowledge of project management (PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile methodologies a benefit)
- Good knowledge of Business Objects
- Very good knowledge of Transportation and/or Supply Chain
- Expert knowledge of Process Management/Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies an advantage).
- Proficiency in using and interpreting BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data systems integration.
