Senior Project Manager Building Infrastructure

The Senior Project Manager specializing in building infrastructure and modern construction techniques will lead the successful delivery of divers infrastructure projects and renovations programs. This role requires expertise in project management methodologies, technical knowledge of advanced building practices, and a deep understanding of construction standards, sustainability principles, and stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and a leader capable of managing complex, multidisciplinary teams while ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.

Your mission:

1.      Define the essential processes of the project or programs:

  • Define a detailed scope of action and control the adaptations that will be made to it over the course of the project.
  • Define the needs of the organization and its customers: prioritize them and situate them in relation to a well-established release plan.
  • Define the parties involved and define their skills and responsibilities.
  • Assess feasibility, site conditions, and regulatory requirements to align project scope with client objectives.

2.      Drawing up and updating a detailed, high-quality schedule. Ensure deadlines are met:

  • Develop a milestone plan.
  • Develop a schedule for the different phases of the project.

3.      Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, regulatory bodies, and project stakeholders.
  • Communicate progress, key milestones, and potential risks through regular status reports and meetings.
  • Ensure alignment of expectations through transparent decision-making and issue resolution.

4.      Evaluate the resources required based on the business case:

  • Define the budget, resources and workforce and stick to it.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to review and approve designs, specifications, and technical plans as necessary.
  • Resolve conflicts and facilitate effective communication among team members.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and excellence, leveraging the latest technologies and methodologies.
  • Adjust resources if necessary.

5.      Introduce quality controls and address risks :

  • Define the quality standards to be met by the project outputs.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of deliverables and the final delivery of the project.
  • Risk management: estimate the critical success factors and risks and remedy them by setting and monitoring KPIs.

6.      Organise the tasks of the project team hierarchically and/or functionally:

  • Stimulate and motivate the staff involved in the project
  • Organise and monitor macro-planning for the project and the staff involved

7.      Budget and Financial Management

  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates and manage project and program budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Monitor financial performance and address variances to keep projects within approved budgets.

8.      Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies, ensuring continuity and resilience throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as construction best practices.

9.      Provide the necessary project documentation to all parties involved in the various successive phases:

  • Communicating progress.
  • Stakeholder management: identify interested parties and take account of potential conflicts of interest.
  • Get the interested parties on board.
  • Provide the project and project documentation.

10.    Sustainability and Innovation

  • Integrate sustainable practices into project planning and execution, focusing on energy efficiency, waste reduction, and long-term performance.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and incorporate innovative construction techniques to enhance project outcomes.

Your profile:

We do not only deliver letters and parcels, but also opportunities. This job is open to all with diverse backgrounds and talents, possessing the following skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 6-10 years in project management, with at least 5 years in infrastructure or building construction;
  • Proficient in risk management and problem-solving.
  • Resistant to stress and able to manage priorities in critical periods
  • Functional leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities effectively.
  • Fluency in French and Dutch with a good knowledge of English;
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex projects on time and within budget;
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems;
  • Understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental compliance standards.
  • Strong commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
