We’re currently looking for a Senior Business Controller – Assets & Engineering who’s ready to make a real impact in a unit undergoing major transformation.

This team plays a key role in the strategic evolution of our parcel activities and new business solutions, with a strong focus on cost efficiency and sustainability. Indeed, the Assets & Engineering team is at the core of our operating model, covering a broad range of responsibility from machinery management to our infrastructure, fleet or sustainability. As Business Controller, you will act as a trusted advisor to the Director of Assets & Engineering and his team, proactively supporting day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives at the highest levels of the organization.

Your mission:

Act as a Strategic Business Partner

Be the right hand of the Assets & Engineering Director, providing financial insight for both operational and strategic decisions;

  • Support all business case development (e.g., infrastructure, fleet, capex), from financial modelling to presentation and defense with senior leadership (CEO/CFO)
  • Support the sustainability board in the various analyses, business cases and action plans (ex: fleet electrification);
  • Drive cross-functional projects in collaboration with both finance and business teams across the Belgian operations;
  • Coordinate stakeholders during closing and forecast cycles to ensure data quality and consistency.

Lead Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning:

  • Own the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial planning for your scope;
  • Ensure the reliability and coherence of financial assumptions;
  • Present and defend budget proposals to senior management.

Oversee Financial Reporting & Performance Analysis:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial and operational performance reports, both financial (including provisions) and non-financial (business KPIs);
  • Identify key variances against budgets, forecasts, and prior year results, and provide actionable storytelling;
  • Present findings to both unit and group senior management in a clear, insightful manner.

Support projects and ad hoc analyses

  • Coordinate sustainability and ESG reporting as part of the annual report;
  • Deliver ad hoc analyses across Capex, overhead FTEs, and other strategic topics impacting BU Belgium.

Your profile:

We deliver more than parcels, we deliver opportunities. This position is open to talents from all backgrounds who meet the following profile:

  • Master’s degree in finance or related field, with a minimum 7 years’ experience in financial positions, including business partnering;
  • Good knowledge of Dutch, French and English;
  • Strong accounting knowledge and extensive expertise in controlling;
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel, experience in Power BI is a real asset. You like to use these tools to optimize existing reports & reporting flows, build dashboards and analyze complex datasets;
  • Strong organizational skills, with a proactive and accountable mindset. You are also not afraid to look and influence beyond your scope.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — comfortable interacting with stakeholders at all levels and departments;
  • Sensitivity for Operational processes is a nice plus;
  • Stress resistant, adaptable & trustworthy;
