Legal Counsel for the Bpost Legal Team in Belgium

Your mission:
As Legal Counsel, you will be part of the team that advises and assists the business and the management in Belgium and at group level as need be.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of contracts, including amongst others procurement, commercial, partnership and real estate contracts;
- Legal advice on and monitoring legal compliance of the public procurement process.;
- Engage in a variety of business-oriented legal work;
- Oversee and manage litigation (collaborating with external legal counsel when needed)
- Report on case evolution, trends and significant files, and make informed recommendations based on reporting;
- Monitor and advise internal stakeholders on evolving legislation impacting bpost activity, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements;
- Propose improvements to processes to increase efficiency and quality of service to internal customers;
- Prepare and give internal trainings to internal stakeholders;
- Assist, on occasion, in overseeing and managing legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions (collaborating with external legal counsel when needed;
- Manage multiple tasks and activities effectively, prioritizing in alignment with business strategy and legal requirements;
The role is based in Brussels, Belgium.
Your profile:
This job is open to all with diverse backgrounds and talents, possessing the following skills and competences:
- Proven track record of at least 5 years of experience, as an attorney or legal counsel in a medium or large company in Belgium, combined with a Master degree in Law;
- Strong background and interest in commercial transactional work with focus on contract drafting, review and negotiations.
- Experience with public procurement related activities is a plus;
- Business minded and solution oriented.
- Strong analytical skills, and ability to make reasoned decisions in high-stakes situations;
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French, Dutch and English.
- You are quick study of internal rules and processes.
- You are well organized and thorough.
- You can work under pressure, with an eye for detail and with tight deadlines.
- You have strong influencing and networking skills, thanks to your engaging and inclusive character and your flexibility.
