bpost operates in a complex legal environment which is constantly changing and provides both risks and opportunities. Compliance with the new regulations for a group with the size of bpost is a major challenge since the group is constantly evolving.

That is why we are looking for a (AML) Compliance Manager for our Corporate Compliance & Data Protection Department. The role of the department is key to help the management navigate in this challenging eco-system in a compliant and ethical manner.

Your mission:

As a Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that bpostgroup operates within the legal and regulatory framework, upholding the highest standards of integrity, ethical conduct, and internal policies and procedures. The AML compliance program will become your biggest challenge and focus. You are open to manage other compliance projects to design and implement effective compliance tools, processes & policies enabling implementation & follow-up of bpost compliance programs.

As a (AML) Compliance Manager you will among others:

  • Be responsible for overseeing, with respect to the postal financial activities of bpost, the company’s AML compliance program that is designed to prevent the company from being used to facilitate money laundering. Key elements include:

o   (1) develop, implement and monitor standards and procedures for transaction monitoring, embargo-, sanction- and & PEPscreening, and for the notifications by post offices of suspicious activities,

o   (2) training of/ and communication with employees in the retail network,

o   (3) reporting of suspicious transactions to the CFI/CTIF,

o   (4) develop and implement a compliance monitoring program (including CPL risk assessment).

  • Be in charge of a team of 4 to 6 AML compliance assistants;
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies;
  • Follow up all evolutions and developments in existing regulations applicable to AML compliance in order to be able to provide adequate support;
  • Be the contact person of the regulatory and control authorities acting within AML scope;
  • Help develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs aligned with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards for other compliance domains.

Your Profile

We do not only deliver letters and parcels, but also opportunities. This job is open to all with diverse backgrounds and talents, possessing the following skills: 

  • At this stage of your career, you have a genuine interest in compliance (including knowledge of anti-money laundering and terrorist financing)
  • You have a proven track record (at least 5 years of experience) as Compliance Manager in a medium or large company combined with a master degree in law;
  • You are enthusiastic about quickly learning the rules and processes which will be essential to the performance of your function
  • A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality and high ethical standards are the foundations of your professional background ;
  • You can think analytically and solve problems ;
  • You are able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment ;
  • You have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously ;
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch or French with a good command of the other language and a good command of English.
