What will you do?

Technology is at the heart of our operational network. Every day, millions of mail and parcel movements depend on reliable, scalable and innovative technology solutions supporting collection, sorting, transport and delivery activities across Belgium.

We are looking for an experienced IT Operations Lead to lead the technology landscape supporting our operational business. Reporting directly to the CIO Belgium, you will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence while driving the continued transformation and modernisation of our technology ecosystem.

This is a highly visible leadership role that combines strategic planning, technology delivery, stakeholder management and operational performance in a mission-critical environment. We are seeking a senior technology leader with the credibility, business acumen and leadership experience to operate effectively with executive stakeholders and lead large-scale transformation initiatives.

What You'll Do

Lead Technology for Operations

  • Own the end-to-end technology landscape supporting operational activities across collection, sorting, transport and distribution.
  • Ensure the availability, stability, performance and scalability of mission-critical business systems.
  • Act as the primary technology partner for senior operational leadership and key business stakeholders.
  • Balance operational excellence with long-term technology transformation and innovation.

Drive Technology Strategy and Delivery

  • Define and execute technology roadmaps aligned with business priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Lead the successful delivery of technology programmes, platforms and capabilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes and ways of working.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology, automation, data and innovation.

Lead and Develop Teams

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Technology Capability Leads and technology professionals.
  • Build a high-performing culture focused on collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the organisation has the skills and capabilities required to support both operational excellence and future growth.

Manage Investment and Performance

  • Own a significant technology budget and ensure strong financial governance.
  • Balance operational priorities, technology investments and transformation initiatives to maximise business value.
  • Monitor and improve service quality, operational performance and delivery outcomes.

Drive Innovation and Transformation

  • Lead the modernisation of operational platforms and technology solutions.
  • Promote data-driven decision making, automation, analytics and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and long-term technology strategy.
  • Contribute to enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and cross-functional programmes.

Who are you?

What You'll Bring

  • Master's degree or equivalent through experience.
  • 10 to 15+ years of relevant experience in technology leadership, IT operations, digital transformation or enterprise technology environments.
  • Proven experience operating at Senior Manager, Head of Department, Director or equivalent leadership level.
  • Demonstrated success delivering technology transformation while maintaining operational stability in complex organisations.
  • Experience partnering with and influencing senior executive stakeholders, including CIO, CTO, COO and Executive Committee level leadership.
  • Strong experience leading senior teams, managing multiple stakeholders and driving organisational change.
  • Experience within logistics, transportation, industrial, manufacturing or other operationally intensive environments is highly valued.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including ownership of significant budgets and investment decisions.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional proficiency in Dutch, French and English.
