What will you do?

As Category Manager – Temp Labour & CSE for the Business Unit Bpost, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the procurement strategy for your category. You will act as a strategic partner to the business, bringing market insights, data-driven analysis and strong supplier management expertise to create value, manage risks and ensure continuity of supply.

In this role, you will define and implement category strategies, identify sourcing opportunities, optimise external spend, and develop a competitive supplier base that supports current and future business needs in terms of quality, service, innovation, sustainability and cost.

Develop and implement the category strategy

You will define a clear strategic vision and action plan for the category temp labour and corporate services or subcategories, in close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders. You will identify opportunities for value creation, innovation, cost optimisation and risk reduction, using market knowledge, data analytics and a structured category management approach.

Build market intelligence and manage the supplier panel

You will conduct in-depth market and supplier analyses, benchmarks and sourcing studies to strengthen market understanding and support strategic decision-making. Based on this, you will help define the supplier panel strategy, identify potential new suppliers, evaluate and select partners, and explore opportunities for strategic partnerships.

Lead supplier relationship management

You will establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiate favourable contracts and ensure reliable access to high-quality goods and services. You will manage supplier performance through structured reviews, action plans, performance reporting and follow-up, while also identifying opportunities to capture supplier innovation.

Manage risks and ensure business continuity

You will assess and manage category-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions, price volatility and regulatory compliance. You will define mitigation plans, monitor market evolutions and proactively address potential risks to ensure continuity of supply.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders

You will work closely with different internal stakeholders, including Business Unit Leads, Finance, Operations and Legal, to ensure that procurement strategies are aligned with business priorities. You will understand stakeholder needs, address concerns and integrate their input into sourcing decisions and category plans.

Act as a strategic buyer for key projects

For high-value or strategically important purchases and suppliers, you will take the lead on RFP strategy, negotiations, contract discussions and supplier performance management. You will work closely with buyers and internal stakeholders to ensure robust decision-making and compliant execution.

Lead and develop your team

You will coach, guide and motivate direct reports, helping them further develop their skills and ensuring an effective and well-functioning team. You will provide feedback, support performance development and manage a team of Category Associate and Buyers involved in procurement activities across the BU.
