What will you do?

Bnode operates in a complex regulatory environment which is constantly changing and provides opportunities, but also increased exposure to fraud risks linked to its parcels and e-commerce logistics related activities. To safeguard its financial position, reputation and ethical standards, Bnode places strong emphasis on fraud prevention, detection and investigation

Within the Corporate Compliance & Data Protection Department, the Fraud Expert plays a key role in proactively identifying, assessing and mitigating internal and external fraud risks across the group.

The role of the department is key to help the management navigate in this challenging eco-system in a compliant and ethical manner.

Your Mission

As a Fraud Expert, you are responsible for the prevention, detection, analysis and management of fraud risks impacting Bnode activities. You act as a subject‑matter expert on fraud typologies, fraud schemes and fraud risk management frameworks, and you support the business through assessments, monitoring, investigations and actionable recommendations. You contribute to protecting the organisation’s financial interests and reputation by ensuring that fraud risks are properly identified, prioritised, monitored and mitigated, in close cooperation with business stakeholders, legal, risk management and external partners.

Tasks and responsibilities 

1. Fraud Risk Management & Monitoring

  • Identify, analyse and monitor internal and external fraud risks related to bpost products, services and processes.
  • Conduct fraud risk assessments, define priorities, and translate outcomes into concrete recommendations, roadmaps and action plans.
  • Ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of existing fraud prevention and detection controls and monitoring systems; propose and support enhancements where needed.
  • Ensure that fraud monitoring frameworks remain aligned with regulatory requirements, business evolution and industry best practices.

2. Fraud Detection, Investigation & Case Management

  • Act as an entry point and coordinator for specific fraud cases and fraud schemes.
  • Perform and support in‑depth fraud investigations, including complex and sensitive cases, for which data analysis and forensic investigations might be necessary.
  • Support and contribute to integrity investigations.

3. Speak Up / Whistleblowing Program

  • Contribute to the management and continuous improvement of the Speak Up (whistleblowing) program.
  • Perform initial assessments of reported cases, validate their relevance within the defined legal and procedural framework, and participate in defining investigation action plans.
  • Conduct investigations.
  • Identify trends, prepare reporting and propose improvements to strengthen the effectiveness of the whistleblowing framework.

4. Advisory Role & Business Support

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business on fraud‑related matters linked to products, services and new developments.
  • Provide pragmatic, risk‑based advice to support business objectives while ensuring adequate fraud controls.
  • Raise awareness and promote a fraud risk culture within the organisation.
  • Support the implementation of agreed fraud mitigation measures within the business.

 

Who are you?

  • Master’s degree or equivalent through relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in fraud prevention/ investigation.
  • Certification or formal training as a forensic auditor, is considered a strong asset.
  • Recognised team player, able to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders while also working autonomously.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of dossiers within the assigned fraud expertise domain.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and cases simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and sound professional judgment.
  • High ethical standards, integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong communication and writing skills in English, and Dutch and/or French.
