Director of Pricing - cross border
What will you do?
You are a member of the Executive Committee of Cross Border Eurasia (CBEC) and act as a strategic partner to senior management across Eurasia, North America, and group corporate functions.
What you will do
1. Define and drive the pricing strategy
You own and implement the end‑to‑end pricing strategy for all Cross Border Eurasia products and brands (parcels and international mail)
You will:
- Define pricing strategies for B2B and B2C across three customer segments (Top / Medium / Small)
- Align pricing strategy with the Long-Term Plan (LTP) of Cross Border Eurasia and bpost group
- Set price rates and pricing policies based on:
- Market and competitor benchmarks
- Internal cost and rate structures
- Other postal operators and regulatory constraints
- Develop and roll out new pricing and rate models to remain competitive
- Safeguard correct execution of pricing strategy across Sales teams and affiliates
- Prepare decision files for the Pricing Board, enabling the CEO Eurasia / EVP Cross Border to approve or reject pricing proposals
2. Pricing performance & management
You provide full end‑to‑end pricing insight for the region to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
This includes:
- Monitoring pricing performance across sales, products and operations
- Managing pricing KPIs at customer, product and regional level
- Analyzing profitability drivers (e.g. line hauls, postal networks, operating costs)
- Identifying improvement opportunities to strengthen pricing impact on overall business performance
3. Strategic leadership & prioritization
You define priorities, set a clear pricing vision, and ensure performance delivery.
You lead a team responsible for:
- Translating business strategy into pricing strategy
- Monitoring pricing performance (trends, customer profitability, market share)
- Managing product performance (penetration, profitability, NPS)
- Driving end‑to‑end pricing analyses and improvement initiatives
4. End‑to‑end process ownership & margin improvement
You own and continuously optimize E2E pricing processes, and lead margin improvement initiatives with direct impact on the P&L of Cross Border Eurasia. This ranges from pricing initiatives to broader process optimization.
5. Senior stakeholder partnership
You partner closely with:
- Senior management across Cross Border Eurasia
- Pricing and leadership teams in North America (Landmark Global, Apple Express, FDM)
- bpost group corporate functions
- Your goal is to identify and drive investment, collaboration and growth opportunities aligned with global cross‑border priorities.
6. Governance, coordination & ways of working
You establish disciplined governance across pricing processes by:
- Defining clear assignments, formats and timelines
- Setting up structured meeting and review cadences
- Ensuring effective communication across multi‑country and multi‑site teams
- Building strong cross‑functional alignment across departments
7. Executive Committee contribution
As a CBEC member, you:
- Contribute to short‑ and long‑term strategy definition
- Translate strategy into concrete, quantified initiatives
- Lead strategic pricing transformation projects across all Cross Border Eurasia business units
8. Global collaboration
You collaborate constructively with cross‑border entities worldwide (US, Canada, Australia) to:
- Develop joint pricing approaches
- Support global customer pricing
- Deliver the objectives of the Cross Border Full Potential Plan
9. People leadership & culture
You coach, develop and lead high‑performing teams by:
- Building strong, skilled and entrepreneurial pricing teams
- Allocating resources based on priorities and constraints
- Optimizing processes and working methods
- Promoting bpost group values and a performance‑driven culture
Who are you?
Required experience for the job:
- Strong experience in strategic and business planning and/or pricing management in a large service or operational environment
- Minimum 15 years of experience in e‑logistics, logistics and cross‑border logistics
- Proven track record in cross‑functional leadership and project management
- Experience leading multidisciplinary, international teams
- General management experience is a strong asset
Languages (depending on workplace):
- Excellent knowledge of the second national language
- Fluent English (professional proficiency)
Required technical know-how for this job:
- Strong background in Pricing and Marketing, combined with operational experience
- Solid understanding of ICT, logistics, finance and strategy
- Proven expertise in pricing and value‑based pricing
- Business planning, project and value management skills
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and legal frameworks impacting pricing (commercial law, competition law, postal law)
