Sales Team Leader SME - team sales advisors
What will you do?
The Sales Team Leader is accountable for the revenue, margin, and pipeline of a defined sub-segment. The role acts as the execution and capability leader, translating segment strategy into concrete commercial actions, driving disciplined sales performance, and building strong sector expertise within the team to ensure consistent delivery.
Responsibilities :
1. Commercial Performance & Execution
· Own and deliver revenue, margin, and pipeline targets for the assigned sub-segment.
· Manage selected customer accounts directly, acting as role model for sales execution.
· Drive pipeline velocity, deal quality, and conversion rates across the sub-segment.
· Support negotiation preparation and actively participate in critical joint negotiations.
· Identify, define and execute “close gap to budget” initiatives within the sub-segment.
· Define market segmentation based on customer characteristics
· Contribute to the pricing strategy, considering factors such as costs, perceived customer value, competition, and profitability goals
2. Strategy Execution & Market Feedback
· Execute the segment strategy defined by the Sales Manager by translating priorities into concrete sales actions.
· Build, maintain and embed deep sector and customer expertise within the team.
· Capture structured customer and market insights and feed them back into segment planning and decision-making.
3. People Leadership & Capability Development
· Lead, coach, and manage a team of approximately 5 sales professionals.
· Set clear objectives (revenue growth, prospecting, attracting new customers, increasing sales to existing customers, entering new markets, etc.), conduct performance reviews, and manage performance on an ongoing basis.
· Identifiy capability gaps and coordinate training and development needs in alignment with the Sales Manager.
· Actively drive adoption of sales tools, processes and best-in-class practices.
· Foster a performance-driven culture with strong focus on excellence in execution and continuous improvement.
· Rapidly replicate proven market wins and best practices across the team.
4. Reporting & Governance
· Deliver weekly and monthly performance reports, including revenue, margin, pipeline, and forecast for the sub-segment.
· Ensure discipline in execution, forecasting accuracy, CRM usage and follow-uip within the team.
· Escalate risks, gaps in a timely and structured manner.
Analyze sales results (volume, revenue, profitability, etc.) and customer satisfaction (NPS, etc.).
Who are you?
- Education Level: Master’s degree
- Required Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience
- Language Requirements (depending on office location): Good knowledge of Dutch, French, and English
- Required Technical Knowledge :
- Strong understanding of sector trends and customer needs
- Excellent market knowledge and strong customer orientation
