What will you do?

 

As Managing Editor Group you will oversee the editorial operations of bpostgroup’s internal news site. You will be responsible for strategic planning, content creation, content quality control, and cross-functional coordination. Your mission includes to create content (both written as well as audiovisual and graphic) that not only supports the strategy of bpostgroup, but also engages our employees via compelling stories, thus contributing to the transformation story of bpostgroup.

As Managing Editor at bpostgroup you are responsible for:

Editorial strategy & planning: develop and manage the editorial calendar, ensuring timely, relevant and diverse content publication.
Content oversight: edit and proofread articles to maintain high editorial standards, ensure all content complies with ethical guidelines and supports the company’s strategic objectives.
News creation: using your network, you know what is happening within the company, allowing you to propose news items for internal communication and finding interesting and innovative angles to reach a broader audience.

Coaching staff writers and editors, which includes assigning articles, finding creative concepts and overseeing the workflow to ensure deadlines are met.

Management skills: resolve misalignments among editorial staff or with contributors, find the right balance between the interests of management and target audience, handle sensitive topics.
Aligning content with the publication’s tone, style, and mission, maintaining consistency across all platforms.
Production and publishing: oversee the publication process, including visual support and advice on design.
Challenging internal stakeholders, and convincing them of the benefits of a transparent communication via the internal news platform.
Evaluating the impact of the internal news platform and proposing actions to boost its impact, innovate where possible.
Managing projects independently: you must be able to plan the various deliverables per (agenda planning), organize regular touchpoints with your manager, and keep track of projects.


Who are you?

  • You have at least 10 years of experience in a relevant environment, designing and executing large groupwide communication initiatives, with strong insights into cross departmental communication strategies.
  • You possess excellent communication skills in English, French and Dutch, spoken and written.
  • You are curious with a passion for communication and a team player, and combine a mix of conceptual thinking and being hands on.
  • You like to explore innovative and creative methods and tools to further strengthen and optimize our communications. You keep up to date with communication tools and methods, think out of the box and take initiative.
  • With your strong storytelling, analytical and editorial skills, and know how to create a communication approach you develop targeted messages with impact.
  • You combine autonomy and ownership in your role and build structural communities and collaborations, in the communications team and beyond - to achieve a common result.
  • You enjoy creating alignment and facilitating aligned and structured approaches.
  • You are able to build a relationship of trust with key people within the organization in order to advise them with impact on the best communication strategies to apply.
  • You have knowledge of and experience in crisis communication.
