Manager Union Relations
What will you do?
At Bpost, social dialogue plays a crucial role. As Manager Union Relations, you are a key link between the trade unions, HR and the business. You build constructive relationships, support consultation and negotiations, and contribute to a stable social climate within a challenging operational context.
Your responsibilities
- You maintain sustainable relationships with the trade union organisations and act as a trusted partner for union representatives and national secretaries.
- You are the central point of contact for the permanent union representatives within Bpost.
- You represent Bpost in social consultation bodies and support negotiations together with the Director Social Relations.
- You support reorganisation and change cases in close collaboration with HR Business Partners and business stakeholders.
- You support HRBPs in complex cases, including disciplinary processes and social escalations.
- You act as a mediator between management and the trade unions and help achieve constructive solutions.
- You advise the business and HR on social legislation, collective labour relations and the impact of organisational changes.
- You monitor societal and social law developments and translate them into relevant actions for the organisation.
- You are responsible for supporting the Actisoc team. Actisoc is the non-profit organisation jointly managed by Bpost and the trade unions that administers a wide range of social benefits for employees. You also manage a Union Relations Expert.
Who are you?
- You hold a bachelor's or master's degree, or have equivalent experience, preferably in HRM, social law or legal practice.
- You have extensive experience in social relations, HR and labour law.
- You understand both the HR and operational realities of a complex operational organisation.
- You have a strong affinity with social legislation and collective labour relations, and enjoy working with a wide range of stakeholders, from trade unions and HRBPs to senior management.
- You are a strong negotiator who can build relationships and deliver difficult messages in a respectful way.
- You are diplomatic and empathetic, and know how to reconcile different interests.
- You work in a hybrid model from our headquarters, but are willing to travel occasionally for regional meetings within Belgium.
- You communicate fluently in Dutch and French
