As an Expert Project Manager Digitalisation – Sorting, you will shape and drive the digital transformation roadmap of our Sorting operations, having the ability to translate business operational needs into clear, actionable IT requirements. Acting as the link between Sorting other operational systems and stakeholders, IT and external technology partners, you will identify, develop and implement innovative solutions that improve efficiency, automation and data-driven decision-making across our sorting network.

Your responsibilities

• Implement, maintain and drive the long-term digitalisation roadmap for Sorting (
• Structure and coordinate projects to ensure consistent governance and a consolidated view of project progress.
• Support the preparation and coordination of strategic and operational initiatives, ensuring priorities, dependencies, risks and decisions are clearly documented and followed up.
• Lead strategic digital and automation projects from concept and business case through implementation and delivery.
• Prepare business cases, project dossiers, steering committee materials, management presentations and stage gate reviews to facilitate informed decision-making and efficient project execution.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational performance through technologies such as Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), AI-powered data capture, operational data platforms and future operational digital solutions and integrations
• Coordinate multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless integration between the Sorting operational technologies and other Bpost IT systems.
• Translate operational needs and complex topics into structured recommendations, actionable plans and clear IT requirements.
• Contribute to the redaction of RFI, RFP and RFQ processes, evaluate software vendors and technology partners, and support investment decisions.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
• Drive day-to-day execution by coordinating actions, monitoring deliverables, facilitating stakeholder alignment and proactively removing roadblocks to keep projects on track.
• Define and monitor KPIs, manage project risks and support data-driven decision-making.
• Establish clear reporting and governance mechanisms, ensuring management has a transparent view on project status, risks, dependencies and required decisions.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement, with an eye on emerging technologies such as Digital Twins, advanced automation and robotics.

• Master's degree or equivalent through experience.
• 8+ years of experience in project management and digital transformation, preferably within  a context of automation or logistics operations.
• Proven track record in managing complex technology implementations and system integrations within an operational context.
• Experience with supplier management, procurement processes and RFP/RFQ trajectories.
• Familiarity with warehouse and logistics technology solutions such as WCS, WMS or comparable platforms.
• Strong affinity with digital solutions, automation, operational technology and data analytics.
• Interest in or experience with AI/ML applications, Digital Twins, robotics and smart warehouse technologies.
• Strong analytical skills combined with a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent in English, French and Dutch.
